Franco Hernández Parischewsky (Kontrabass): Franco Hernández was born in Concepción, Chile. For his main instrument, the double bass, he was taught there by the Austrian-born double bass player Werner Lindl, who encouraged him to further his studies in Vienna. From 2014 to 2018 he studied at the Musik und Kunst Privatuniversität der Stadt Wien (MUK) with Univ.-Prof. Jan Georg Leser and member of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, receiving his bachelor degree with distiction at the end of his Studies. Since 2018 he has been furthering his skills in double bass master’s program at the same institution. In order to deepen his orchestral, chamber musical and solo practice, he has participated in the Angelika-Prokopp Summer Academy of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra and at the International Orchestra Institute Attergau. In addition to that, he has attended master classes with renowned teachers and orchestral musicians such as Herbert Mayr (Principal double bass of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra), Prof. Dorin Marc (Nuremberg), Ekkehard Beringer (Principal double bass at NDR and professor at the Music Academy in Hannover) and Ivan Kitanovic (Principal double bass of the Vienna Symphony Orchestra). Franco has collaborated during his career with the orchestra of the Vienna State Opera and the Tonkünstler Orchestra of Lower Austria and since December of 2020 he was engaged in the Academy of the Nuremberg State Philharmonie.
